This 7-minute video was created as part of a one-year project, to raise awareness about the importance of Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in research and care development in Pediatric Oncology.

PPIE, What is it? – The project aimed as well at increasing the understanding of the relevance and the benefits of PPIE for healthcare professionals, researchers and patients.

The results highlighted the necessity of first explaining the “What and How”, to then better implement the concept of PPIE in the research & development processes:

  1. Impart knowledge about the PPIE concept via awareness and training,
  2. find a “common” language and improve communication and
  3. to develop measures that close the gap and meet the needs of both, HCP and patients, equally.
